Retina of an eye creates a sensory perception, when light, coming from the surrounding world, is projected onto it. Obviously, the actual light doesn’t shine inside of the head. Instead, it gets stopped by the retina. On the other side of this membrane, light is coded into data, which is transmitted through nerve impulses to the thalamus. There the data gets decoded and processed to conscious information. This information hasn’t even seen the light. Nor is it been in any contact with the surrounding world. Yet this virtual light seems so real that hardly anyone can realize that it is a model, created by the brain.

Let’s think of a screen (or speaker cone) from the viewers (or listeners) viewpoint. The screen or membrane (retina of the mind’s eye) is located in-between fact and fiction, true and false, outer and inner. Dreams, imagination, subjectivity and unreality seem to be channeled from inside of the screen (i.e. inside the machinery). The so-called-reality (factual and objective world) is located outside from the screen.

If an eye is a sensory organ, which is directed towards an outer world, then the mind’s eye must be a sensory organ, which is directed towards an inner world. The mind’s eye senses inner visions. The organic eye senses outer visions. Both of these visions are generated inside the mind of the beholder. But both of the visions are separated by an abyss.

Whatever appears on the retina of the mind’s eye (the inner screen) emerges as raw experience. Therefore the projections of the psychotic order are experienced as reality. Thus, real ecomes hyperreal. Virulent collective dogmas (i.e. ideologies) are basic examples of psychotic projections. Not only are they indistinguishable from reality, they are able to re-from reality.
